Today amongst the mass emails from Baylor all juniors got an email about graduation. Graduation is 14 months away. Apparently it's already time to start thinking about it, and not just the fun parts like ordering announcements, and parties, and cap and gown but the scary growing up parts too. It just seems like its looming now, I've been looking at classes for next semester lately (I sign up at the beginning of April) and it's weird to think that I'll only do that one more time here at Baylor. I don't feel like I've been here long enough to leave yet...
So of I read the email and it's all avout submitting graduation forms starting in July and getting degree audits turned in and how if you screw this up you can't graduate and of course I'm then totally freaking out hoping I'm not going to accidentally have missed some stupid class I was supposed to take and not be able to graduate. So now on top of all my homework and tests this week I'm thinking about graduation and all the stuff I have to get figured out in the next year. So now I feel totally overwhelmed because somehow between work and volunteering and school work I need to start studying for the GRE and contacting grad programs and really thinking about schools and applications all the while trying to pass the classes I'm actually taking now and trying not to ruin my GPA in the process. Is there a way to stop sleeping to have more hours in the day? Haha, no seriously.
Being a college student is starting to be no fun anymore. I'm slowly realizing that I have no real plan for the rest of my life. I'm graduating with a degree in psychology which is basically worthless without a PhD, and I'm thinking I should have followed the smart path and majored in business or education something with a guaranteed job. I don't know anything about supporting myself or finding a job, or paying for any of the things I don't currently pay for. I don't even feel like I'm old enough to be thinking about any of this stuff, it's just surreal how fast college has flown by. I mean I know I have a year, but two semesters isn't much and a lot of post graduation stuff needs to be done or at least started next fall. It's too bad we don't get a year of chill time after schools over to figure stuff out without having to grow up and live in the real world. I still want to travel and have some fun before worrying about a job or grad school- which doesn't sound too appealing right now. I mean really who wants to finish school and go back for another five years?

Back in Waco
"I can totally see you getting out of the shower in that" - Jason while we were at target buying towels. We then found out three people can get in a "bath sheet" at once haha.
Spring Break is over, and it's back to school time. 18 days till my birthday and another break from school! It's been so nice not to have work or school or anything for the past week, I'm so not ready to be back to studying and tests.
Here's the Spring Break rundown:
Emily, Jasper and I road tripped to Houston and had dinner with my parents. Then we went to Movie Tavern to visit our favorite bartender Bobby and to Studio to say hello. We hung out with Morgan and Chris later that night. The next day we went to the outlet mall to go shopping, Coach was having a sale and I bought a dress at BCBG. We spent a day with Emily's family, and went to dinner with them. We went to the museum Tuesday and saw the Magic exhibit which was really cool. There were videos of different performers and props and stuff.
Wednesday and Thursday were the rodeo days. Wednesday was Rascal Flatts, they were ok in concert, not that great as most of their songs are slower and they don't really have an exciting stage presence. Kristin and I ran around the carnival and rode some rides that night and then we got corn with Ashley after the concert and ran into Chris and Lauren in line for the bus. On the bus ride home some drunk lady in front of us threw up into the bus trashcan. We also saw some girl in tacky gold boots and short shorts almost get hit by the railroad warning bar as it was coming down. She was drunk, and after the cop pulled her out of the way she proceeded to pull out her camera and take "myspace" photos of herself and the cop. She also jumped on him and hugged him. Needless to say the rodeo brings out the trash in people. We also saw four sixteen year old girls, one looking like Snookie from Jersey Shore, two had bandannas as shirts pinned to their strapless bras and the fourth was wearing cutoff shorts and a bandanna bra... Trash. Thursday we went down early and rode all the rides at the carnival, and walked around the livestock show. We also saw pig races and a swimming pig. That was the most entertaining thing all afternoon. Then we watched all the rodeo events and saw Brad Paisley who was amazing. He ran around and interacted with the audience and gave away guitar picks - so good.
Friday Emily, Ashely and I went to the beach. It was windy which was annoying but I love the beach so it was worth it. Funniest moment that day was when the blanket, which had a bunch of sand on it blew off the ground and the sand went all over Ashley. She was wearing a fleece so it stuck to her and she looked like a sand monster. We went to the lego store and freebirds on the way home. Saturday night we went to Southbeach for Madonnaramma to celebrate Chris's 21st birthday. It was a lot of fun, we saw some really entertaining people there. Lots of people dressed like Madonna and some really entertaining shirtless guys and an awkward dancing threesome. There was also a sketch old Asian man who kept dancing on people.
Today we got up and drove back to Waco, and I've been watching tv and studying all afternoon.

March 07, 2010
Just a short blog for the week, a longer update will come after Spring break. The last week was pretty uneventful. Mostly I just worked on a research paper, and took two major tests. So nothing at all exciting or fun. I am glad Sing is over. It was a lot of fun but having free time is amazing! I spent a lot of extra time at Waco Center for Youth last week hanging out with the kids and had so many more hours to do homework and study. I also learned that Steve from Blue's clues now does music. He has a myspace page and everything. So he's obviously pretty legit, you can google Steve Burns if you really want to see.
Anyway I'm in Houston now with Emily for Spring break. We got here yesterday and will be here all week. Today we built my entire Harry Potter lego castle.
It was pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I feel very accomplished. We also went to the outlet mall today. I got a dress for formal at BCBG and a pair of jeans there too. Coach was having a "take an additional 20% off" sale so of course I found something to buy there. Sunglasses and a new purse. So the shopping trip was successful. We also took Jasper out to play in the yard and he almost got in a fight with Ribbon. So all in all it was a good day.
At the mall today we saw this...
A lady with a dog in a baby carrier. It was strapped to the front of her body like a baby and she was carrying it around in stores with her. To make things worse the dog had sunglasses that strapped onto it's head and under it's chin. It also had a bow making its hair stick up and a strange colorful things around it's neck. Sick, I feel bad for people's animals.
Anyway I'll leave you with this
Something you shouldn't name your kid...

Exactly how do you pronounce this name?!

SB 2010 Can't come fast enough
Seriously it can't. I really need spring break to get here as fast as possible! I realized yesterday that I should have been spending the next week packing and getting ready to be in Italy for SB, and that's not happening anymore, well for me anyway. The rest of my family is still going to Italy, apparently it "wasn't worth the money not to go"... I'm still looking forward to the break though, and it will hopefully include a beach day or two. SB was made infinitely better at the discovery that Texas State has the same lame early break as Baylor so some of my good friends will be around!
So there is no "Things you shouldn't name your kid" section this week because thanks to a snow day in Waco work was canceled! That's right we had a snow day in Texas! I believe the grand total was about 3 inches of snow yesterday; and yet Baylor felt the need to still have class. So the Baylor community got to enjoy walking to class in the disgusting slushy snow storm. That part of the day was totally not fun, but the rest of the afternoon rocked! After class I went to volunteer at WCY and we spent the afternoon playing in the snow. Now I know I'm usually a snow hater, but I have never (well not that I can remember) built a real snowman, or a snow fort so this was a bit exciting. It was also really rewarding to see how happy we made the kids, especially on the locked units. So I went around to all the units and with some of the other staff took the kids out to play in the snow and helped them build snowmen and had snowball fights. By the end of the day I was actually pretty good at rolling a giant ball for a snowman! These were big snow men too, I'm talking like my height or taller. It was awesome. The other great thing about the snow day was that Sing practice and work were canceled! So I actually had an entire evening free. I spent it writing a paper lol, well and watching the Olympics.
Speaking of the Olympics this year has been pretty sweet for the United States. I believe we have 26 medals right now, most of which I've seen won! I love the winter Olympics, the sports are just so rugged and badass. Like ski and snowboard cross, how cool are those!? I really wish I was good at a cool snow sport. Also I now officially want to visit Canada, it looks pretty fun. My favorite event however is figure skating. This year has been awesome, all the ice dancing pairs were great, I'm a little disappointed Tanith and Ben didn't make the podium but Meryl (who is roommates with my roommates high school friend) and Charlie were amazing and so were the Canadian couple. Watching Evan win was another plus, he has definitely been voted hottest male figure skater in our house! I also love all the skiing events, and America has some pretty big contenders this year. I'll be pretty sad when the Olympics is over.
This is the last weekend of Sing!! The first performance is tomorrow night, and we will be all done Saturday! Then all that stands in between me and SB2010 is two (possibly 3) tests and a research paper. Can't friggin wait! Oh and Monday marks one month till my birthday :)

Oh Hey SING 2010!
"You are a card you have no family" - Funny moments at SING practice
Funny Valentines
This week instead of names I bring you entertaining quotes from precious moments valentines!
"You're my Flavorite"
"I'm so Fondu you!"
"Wow Candy" - That was it, no nice memo just wow candy...
Today's the day! Today's the day!! It's SING 2010!! Finally!
I honestly can't think of anything else thats happened this week except this to write about...
I know sad right, but the sleep deprivation has gotten to me and I've forgotten everything else that's happened this week. Well except the Olympics, I've been watching that whenever I can.
But tonight was our first real performance. I wish I'd seen some other acts so I could review them but I haven't. The best part of this year is going after FIJI again because we get to see their awesome circle of "Oh my Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord" every night and honestly that's what gets me pumped up for the show haha. Things went well tonight, despite the fact that I'm sick it was a lot of fun and I had a lot of caffeine. Love me some Redbull! So here are some pictures of our act, we are cards living in the town of cardstock and we get attacked by jokers. It's pretty sweet.

Countdown to SING: 8 days!
"All you need to know is we are monkeys and monkeys do drugs" - Dr. Patton
(too bad that wasn't a test question...)
Things you shouldn't name your kid:
Kudakwashe
Adeola
Seriously how do people come up with these names? Do they just point to random letters on a page and put them in that order.
That's right, we're in the final week of practice! Yikes! The first SING performance is next Thursday night, which is crazy, but honestly I can't wait for it to be over. I love SING but it will be really nice to have my life back. These next few weeks (well and this one) are going to kick my butt. I'm so glad it will be spring break when everything is over. Had my first Drugs and Behavior test today, History of psychology was Monday, and psychopathology was last week. So far all tests have been ok, I mean not easy or anything but not totally awful. Drugs and Behavior was definitely the hardest.
This has been my first week really doing something with the horses at WCY. I learned how to do vitals yesterday. So we did heart rate, respiration, temperature, weight, etc. Then we groomed because it's been so muddy and rainy all the horses are covered in mud. Today I'm helping in the class, I'm not sure what we're doing exactly hopefully the weather will be ok and we can be outside.
Jasper had a scary experience this week. Somehow he ended up locked outside. No one is really sure when he went out or for how long but Emily found him after SING practice one night. He was outside shaking and totally freaked out and wet from the rain. Poor baby. He also made a new friend over the last week. Who left for basic training for the army yesterday. Sorry Jasper the only guy you've truly ever been nice to can't hang out with you anymore lol. It's ok he still have Emily and Me. He's been going nuts for attention the last few days. I don't even know if he's slapped anyone!
Saw a fight at the movie theater this weekend. We went to see An Education, which was fantastic by the way, and saw a fight in the parking lot after the movie. It was the lamest/funniest thing ever. About 15 middle school thugs were running around chasing each other and yelling and talking big to each other and one got knocked out. On the ground, didn't get up, punched in the stomach. It was pretty entertaining, and the kids continued to act like idiots until security came out and they all ran away. They then proceeded to walk around on Franklin probably stirring up trouble. Gotta love them Waco kids!
It's always nice when you discover a pretty side of Waco. Today while in search of a new remote at Grande I drove through these gorgeous old neighborhoods near the lake. It's like a totally different world! I would voluntarily live in those neighborhoods. And of course own a boat so I could go to the lake and sing about being on a boat!
EDIT
It snowed today. We still had class and it spent the entire day raining and as we are walking into audio tech there was freezing rain and when we came out there was snow and slush everywhere. It's currently raining so I missed out on the actual snow part of the snow. So basically the snow was useless and miserable. I just want it to be warm! I did however make a snowball and then a small snowman on Emily's car.

And a fantastic email I received today:
A Lay-off letter from an excellent boss.
Dear Employees:
As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way.
To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%. But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead.
This has really been bothering me since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go.
So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lots and found sixty 'Obama' bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change......
I gave it to them.
I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

Caitlin + George Foreman Grill = BFFL
For the second week in a row...
Things you should not name your kids
Barbie Barbee (because really who wants the same first and last name)
Airybelle
Zuleima (who can pronounce this???)
As the title suggests this week I've been doing some cooking on my George Foreman Grill. I finally went grocery shopping and got some stuff I can cook! So made bacon and cheese stuffed burgers with these preformed burger patties I bought. They were really good! Today I made Caesar salad, corn and a pork chop for dinner. It turned out good as well! Jasper and Lucy both agree that the food was good.
By the end of next week I will have had my first test in every class. Exciting? Haha maybe, I guess so. Italian went well, or at least it seems like it did. I've got psychopathology tomorrow, and then Drugs and Behavior and History of psychology next Monday and Wednesday. So it's a busy weekend of studying unfortunately.
I downloaded some really cool apps for my IPhone the other night. One is called psych drugs, and it is like a dictionary of prescription drugs and it gives you the classification of the drug, the dosage levels, what it treats and the half life. I also downloaded Mental Illness, which is like the other app in that it's a dictionary of disorders. Its like a quick facts sheet of symptoms and what each disorder is. I also got a cool 3D brain app that's just fun.
This week was my first real week at Waco Center for Youth. It's been good! The weather has been gross so I've just helped in the classroom. We did a class on colors of the horses for 6 girls today. It's the more advanced class so they will hopefully be riding soon. That's what I'm excited for, getting to teach riding and of course anything with the actual horses. lol.
This week Zombieland came out on dvd!! I bought it yesterday and we watched it last night. It was fantastic just like in theaters and everyone should see it. I also watched Inglourious Basterds again, and Up and Whip it (which has also come out on dvd in the past week). So it's been a good movie week. I'm also currently watching Band of Brothers, upon recommendation from a friend who owns the movies. which I have never seen before and it's pretty good! Oscar nominations were announced this week as well, and I'm excited about that happening pretty soon because I've seen a lot of the movies up for stuff.
On another note I'm so ready for it to be warm again!! This whole 30 degrees and raining crap just ain't working out for me. Oh and Baylor totally dominated UT in overtime this week. So yeah Sic'em!!!
(Jasper is currently learning how to do a Sic'em... it's not working out too well haha).
We had an Emo themed day at SING.
I'm really good at looking emo and so were some other people haha. ---->
