What's Wednesday All Aboot?

Vancouver Day 2

When we got up this morning Mark ran to Tim Hortons and picked up a cinnamon roll and bacon/egg sandwich for breakfast while I got dressed. Both of which were very good, and had REAL bacon (not Canadian, we were worried). After we ate we walked down Granville Ave past the Orpheum theater and the walk of fame. We stopped in a few shops along the way to Canada Place where we grabbed a shuttle bus to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and park. We read about this park in my guidebook, it is at the base of Grouse Mountain on the Capilano River. We got soooo lucky with the weather today! It was supposed to be rainy and overcast but instead it was clear and even sunny for a little while.

Future Shop! They sell the future...
 So strange...
Even prettier with the sun out

After a few photos we hopped on the bus and off we went! The ride took us through Stanley Park and over the Lions Gate Bridge into North Vancouver. We had a great view of all parts of Vancouver and Vancouver Island from the ride. The Suspension Bridge and Rainforest were pretty pricy but totally worth it. The pictures I took will not do it justice! The bridge is 280 ft in the air (as tall as the Statue of Liberty's neck) and is suspended across the Capilano river. It's pretty shaky all the way across, so an adrenaline rushing experience for sure. We were of course the people that got called out for trying to shake the bridge... whoops! On the other side of the river there is a nature walk on platforms through the rain forest and some suspended bridges in the treetops. Back across the bridge is the cliff walk, a narrow walkway attached to a cliff over looking the river.

Canadians are much better at caution signs!

 Mark made a new friend...

 On the other side

This tree fell on top of the bridge, to remove it they had to cut it in sections so the workers wouldn't get bounced off the bridge!
Mark's tree age and his real age are so similar!

After finishing up at the park we accidentally missed out bus back and had an hour to kill so we wandered into the village of Edgemont. It's a small village with some shops and restaurants. We stopped at the market there and got some chicken samosas (a pastry stuffed with yummy-ness).

When we got back to Vancouver we hopped off the bus on Robson street and wandered around there for awhile. This is the big shopping area in Vancouver. They recently got a HUGE Victoria's Secret and the bus driver told us are very excited about it. Something we've noticed is that some of the stores use animal heads on their mannequins, so strange. We ended our day over by the stadium where the Olympic opening/closing ceremonies were held and Olympic Village. Across the street from this was our real destination,Fatburger.

Christ Church Cathedral, the stained glass is supposed to be beautiful but we missed going in by 5 min.
