Today we finally got to sleep in! If you call sleeping till 8:30 sleeping in, such a change from my earlier summer sleep schedule. This morning a big group of us headed to the south bank for a bike tour. This may sound like a really cool idea but by then end at least Meggan and I were regretting it. It was a cool way to see a lot of London and coasting down hill and through the park by Buckingham palace was fun but after awhile riding hurt and there were a few close calls with people and cars. It was great weather though and still a fun day. We ate really good paninis from a sandwich stand near the warf for lunch and then headed to Kings Cross to check out platform 9 3/4. That was fun but slightly disappointing because nothing looks like the movies. The actual exterior shots for Kings Cross are at the next door train station and there was a lot of construction. We also stopped at the Leaky Cauldron and might make an attempt to find Gringotts at a later date. Everyone was really tired by the time we found Burough Street Market and the pub so we headed back to take naps and relax. This evening Meggan and I walked to a crepe shop near the tube station. They were soooo good! A perfect late night meal. While at the crepe shop we discovered that they also served cognac and coffee so Michael and my goal to try cognac will soon be completed!
The whole gang before the bike tour. EXTREME!!
Cool wooden furniture, they also had statues and a lot of wooden cats you could buy.
